I'm being put on birth control this month..?

This month my mom is taking me to the 'hoo-haa' doctor to get birth control, for my period, honestly. I have verrrrrrrrrrry heavy periods and so she's putting my on birth control to lighten them up. Not planning on doing anything haha. ANYWAYS! What are some, I don't know, good birth controls to be put on? Thanks. :)
